ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Assists patrons and completes special projectsAssists patrons with locating library materials and basic use of library resourcesProvides high quality customer serviceExamples of Duties
UNDER CLOSE SUPERVISIONDrives and works on BookmobileRegisters new patronsSends materials to other libraries as requestedSchedules meetings and classesAssists patrons with check-out of all formats of library materials including print, audio-visual and electronicProcesses returns and reservesCollects fines for overdue materials, makes change, processes credit card transactions, counts money and reconciles daily money transactionsOpens and processes library material shipmentsAnswers questions and assists patrons using library materials, resources and technologyAssists with promoting library resources and programsAssists with library programs, events and outreach in the communityOrders suppliesPerforms Library Page L/U duties as requiredPerforms related workMinimum Requirements
High school diploma or the equivalent
EQUIVALENCYAn equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSMust provide one's own source of transportationMust work a varied scheduleProof of age required for persons under 18 years of ageMust hold appropriate certification from the State of Kentucky (KRS 171.250) within 30 days of employment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONSMeets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related workCommunicates with individuals in person and utilizes all types of communication mediaTravels to various locationsSpends prolonged periods of time sitting, standing, walking, carrying, stooping, squatting and climbingReviews information in both print and electronic formatsFrequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 35 poundsOperates office and computer equipment and other technologySupplemental Information
