The HTV Charlotte Ad Operations team supports Hearst Televisions 35 television stations sales teams across the country. The Senior Ad Operations Manager will be a strategic leader who understands and evaluates the current HTV Charlotte ad operation team and processes and provides recommendations to the leadership team to advance the operations forward. The Senior Ad Operations Manager will lead a team of managers who will be responsible for daily operations of the department. In this role, you will develop and implement improvements to the operational planning, policies, and standard operating procedures as well as best practices. You will collaborate with Senior Leadership on development of strategies to enhance the value and cost effectiveness of the operation. In office presence is required at a minimum of three days a week, additional days may be required as needed.

What you’ll do

  • Lead a team of 4 managers who lead approximately 30 employees
  • Provides strategic advice and recommendations to leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of new or modified operating procedures
  • Identify areas of efficiency to improve the process for our stations
  • Work with the Senior Management Team to improve operational systems, processes, and policies to support the Ad Ops operation
  • Design, coordinate and implement employee training criteria for all specialties in Ad Ops, as applicable to the specific areas of the operation
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures that effect changes for improvement
  • Consult with Tech Ops team on automation opportunities and implementations and serve as the principal point of contact
  • Back-up support for other managers that may be out of the office
  • Special projects assigned by management

What we are looking for

  • Minimum 4-5 years Radio and/or Television Traffic experience required
  • Prior management experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of Wide Orbit Traffic System preferred
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required
  • Skilled in reviewing and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating SOP’s, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people within the organization
  • Strategic leader who champions a culture of continuous improvement
  • Conceptual and analytical thinking
