The Contracts Assistant will assist the Business Affairs department and work closely with the Foreign Rights team. The position includes working in a fast-paced, busy, and dynamic office.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

- Work with the Business Affairs department and Trident's foreign rights agents to prepare drafts of foreign publishing contracts based on Trident's boilerplate agreement and do a line-by-line review of those contracts prepared by foreign sub-agents

- Correspond with foreign publishers during the contract negotiation phase

- Track the progress of contracts from initial request until they are fully executed

- Maintain and continually update the domestic and foreign contracts status charts

- Distribute domestic and foreign status charts to agents on a weekly basis

- Prepare initial draft of Trident's agency agreements

- Respond to contract status inquiries from agents and assistants

- Perform general administrative duties

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree

- Strong organization skills and a willingness to work to get the job done

- Experience with legal terminology and contracts and/or paralegal experience a PLUS

- Excellent people and communication skills

- METICULOUS ATTENTION TO DETAIL with the ability to multi-task

- Extremely professional and articulate

- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

- Cover letter and Resume required
