Job Requirements The American Institute of Physics is seeking a business development specialist for Inside Science, a syndicated, nonprofit news service dedicated to providing accurate, engaging science news to the general public. She/he will support the Inside Science director, in collaboration with AIP's development and marketing departments, to identify, develop, maintain, and enhance strong and productive relationships with sources of revenue for Inside Science, including foundations, corporate sponsorships, licensing opportunities, and advertisers. The incumbent will help plan an annual meeting for our stakeholders, write an annual report on the Inside Science program, develop marketing materials, plan outreach events, and identify strategic partnerships.

A bachelor's degree is preferred, preferably in a business or communications related field as well as 2-4 years' experience in product marketing, and/or market research and analysis. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the business side of news organizations, preferably nonprofit and/or science news organizations. The successful candidate will have very strong interpersonal skills and will have the ability to work with cross-functional teams in a self-directed and collaborative manner. Excellent writing skills and verbal communication skills are required. Demonstrated experience in writing reports for investor-type audiences is desired.
