Job Requirements
  • Support all NBC Network News properties (Today Show, Nightly News, Meet the Press)
  • Serve as principal source for audience measurement and analysis for News division, providing consultation to senior management and producers to grow and retain audience
  • Work to streamline audience reporting and develop relevant custom analyses for internal stakeholders
  • Work with Press & Publicity to formulate PR strategies and press releases, and with Promotion evaluating campaigns and selecting local campaign targets
  • Provide research support for special initiatives and projects
  • Evaluate the overall news landscape (local and national) and identify factors impacting viewing behavior
  • Analyze program content and segment performance
  • Estimate future ratings performance
  • Manage and help Develop a team

  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Minimum 7 years of television media research experience with background in network and local television, including a strong interest in news.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Nielsen systems including Galaxy Explorer, Galaxy Navigator, Npower and Marketbreaks essential
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office applications required, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in successfully communicating both verbally and in writing
  • Familiarity with other qualitative data sets is desired, including MRI, Scarborough, Mendelsohn and Wrapsweeps
  • Proven ability to work in a high-pressure fast paced environment without sacrificing accuracy and attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and delegate
  • Comfortable working with senior business leaders to present key metrics and recommendations
  • Proven ability to work independently and must be comfortable working with a team
  • Proven communication and presentation skills
