THE ROLE Our dynamic team of game makers is looking for a Senior Graphics Engineer who loves games and is eager to bring exceptional entertainment to millions of players. We are building a next-generation multiplayer game, and you will be responsible for helping architects and build our engine technology.

WHO YOU ARE

You have a wealth of experience developing an optimized multi-platform graphics engine.

You love working with artists to achieve artistic and visual fidelity goals while keeping us within our tight performance budget.

You will help ensure a stable development environment and a high bar for code quality, including pushing the boundaries of what our code is capable of. • You have experience working in an online/multiplayer environment on at least one “AAA” title or more.

You have strong interpersonal and development skills as you will collaborate with other engineers and disciplines.

You believe that technical passion and common decency can and should exist harmoniously. You model that every day, using clear, direct, kind communication, both verbal and written.

Make fundamental modifications to the graphics/rendering code to suite the needs of the game.

You find time to play video games & empathize deeply with our players because you are a gamer at heart.

WHAT YOUR DAY MIGHT LOOK LIKE

Craft pragmatic, reliable shipping code in iterative fashion.

Own some of the major graphics initiatives and solutions – develop, maintain and optimize while providing all the support required for internal customers that include technical artists, world art, character art and lighting team members.

Assist your Lead in developing graphics engineering roadmap and maintain it.

Use social skills to communicate with development, production, and leadership teams on tradeoffs of different code paradigms, incremental solutions approach, while limiting overall risks.

Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of content creators to make the best game possible.

Participate in recurring playtests to see how the game is playing and experience how your work is affecting the product. Provide valuable feedback.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have at least 5 years’ experience working on graphics systems alongside technical artists, visual effects artists.

You demonstrate knowledge and practical skills for balancing artistic visual fidelity goals and performance in high frame rate multiplayer games.

You can demonstrate the ability to build graphics systems and core tech pivotal to a game successfully shipping with continued live development.

Capacity to collaborate with other disciplines to achieve high-level goals, and translate them into clear, measurable tasks.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below. $147,500—$221,300 USD
