Aligned Orthopedic Partners seeking an experienced, full-time Surgery Authorization Representative, (SAR). Services include physical therapy. The SAR will work directly with the Billing Department, patients, and medical staff to ensure authorization of needed surgical procedures. The ability to multi-task is critical for success in the role.
The SAR should be efficient and well-spoken with experience communicating with insurance companies. If you are patient, organized, computer-savvy, and can multitask, we'd like to meet you.
What you will do:Initiating authorizations for surgeries that physicians deem necessarySupplying insurance companies with documentation supportCommunicating with the hospital and medical staff on the progress of authorizationAdvising patients on surgery statusEnsure confidentiality of sensitive information(This is not an inclusive list of all duties)
We'd love to hear from you if you:
Proven experience conducting surgery authorizationsKnowledge of medical terminology, regulations, and medical office procedures;Knowledge of medical coding is desired but not mandatory (CPT and HCPS codes)Knowledge of MS Office, databases, and EHR systemsOutstanding communication skillsPatience and discretionOrganizational and multitasking skillsAdditional training in Medical Administration is a plus; Medical Assistants and Licensed Practical Nurses are welcome to apply.
