Patient Services Team Member/Medical Scheduler
Requirements
MEDICAL AUTHORIZATIONS TEAM MEMBER
Hourly Rate - $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
FULL TIME POSITION
LOCATION: LAS VEGAS, NV (NON REMOTE POSITION)
Hourly Rate - $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
Responsibilities
• Main point of contact interacting with patients over the phone
• Handles a high volume of incoming calls.
• Schedules patient visits and procedures for multiple clinic locations which involves coordinating and adhering to many departments and their clinical protocols.
• Responds to questions and concerns and directs them to appropriate location or department.
• Provides on-going communication with clinical staff regarding real-time patient status.
• Collaborates with medical staff and their associates to optimize efficiency and effectiveness in scheduling.
• Multitasks between several different technology systems to complete functions.
• Collects and enters all necessary demographic, clinical and insurance information from patients or responsible parties.
• Provides patient education by explaining preps and patient instructions for the scheduled procedure following scheduling protocols.
• Communicates effectively with physicians and physician staff, ancillary departments, and patients.
• Obtains Authorizations for patient procedures and testing, communicates information to external facilities and patient.
• Works with insurance companies to determine eligibility and provides documentation to facilitate care for patient.
• Performs all other duties and projects as assigned.
• Highly self-motivated and directed with the ability to solve problems
Required Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED
• At least one year of medical authorizations and/or one year of call center experience required
• Diagnostic Test Scheduling experience a plus
• Working knowledge and experience with medical terminology and attention to detail
• Excellent customer service skills exhibiting good oral and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and navigate between multiple computer systems simultaneously
• Ability to handle a large volume of incoming calls
