Position
Seeking data analysts with experience and interest in data visualization - Tableau Analyst
What You'll Do
Help organizations find meaning and value from multiple data sources and make the key information clearly visible to impact customer missions. Analysts work across the whole spectrum of a data rich programs:Developing prototype dashboards to iteratively assist users in developing concepts, key metrics and requirements for production productsUnderstanding and defining schemas and data models to structure data to support analysisBuilding and refining visualizations and dashboards according to best practices to convey critical informationEnriching data sets with statistical methods and AI/ML modelsUnderstanding and refining/automating program processesIntegrating visualizations with existing databases and systemsRequired
Experience with the following tools and processes highly desired:Tableau Desktop and Server ideal, but experience with QLIK, PowerBI, or other visualization tools helpfulRelational database queries with SQLRelational database modeling and schema designTableau Prep Builder or related ETL tools and processesDesired
Additional valuable experience can include some of the following:
Experience with data visualization principles and best practicesScripting languages such as Python, R, JavaScriptExperience with a relational database such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server or MariaDBExperience with "big data" systems or non-traditional databases such as Apache Spark, Hadoop HIVE, Cloudera Impala, Neo4JUnderstanding of basic statistical techniques such as descriptive statistics and simple linear regressionFamiliarity with some AI/ML approaches such as k-means clusteringFamiliarity with geospatial data sources, file formats and tools, such as ArcGIS, QGIS, PostGIS, shape files, geometriesFamiliarity with federal budget processesFamiliarity with some IC missions and systemsExperience with Agile team systems such as JIRA, Confluence or related toolsWhat You'll Love About Apogee
