Job Overview

The Director of Marketing reports to the Chief Marketing Communications Officer as part of the Department of Marketing Communications, which is located within the Division of Advancement, Vocation, and Alumni Engagement. The Director of Marketing supervises manager for enrollment marketing and specialists supporting advancement, Conservatory, Arts, and the HoneyRock Center for Leadership Development.The position has direct budgetary management and oversight for executing marketing strategies.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Director of Marketing collaboratively develops, supervises, and executing marketing and communications annual plans to support advancement and enrollment priorities for the College.Collaborates with Marketing Communications team of directors to develop marketing tactics for advancement and enrollment divisions, leveraging key campus partners and subject matter experts.Manages multiple full-time staff members: recruits, supervises, trains, optimizes workflows for, provides leadership and vision for, and coaches team members.Interacts regularly with the both Advancement, Academic, and Enrollment Management divisions including acting as a liaison with senior administrators, cross-division department directors, and program directors.Understands and reports performance metrics, and conducts evaluations of strategies, making improvement recommendations to the Chief Marketing Communications Officer.Liaise with senior administrators, cross-division department directors, and program directors.Oversees delivering high quality marketing campaigns developed and managed by the marketing team.Researches and implements best practices, current trends, and appropriate new technologies for improving College marketing.Analyzes ongoing trends and data to determine best practices and strategic application of targeted messaging across communications channels with a specific focus on prospects.As needed, coordinate with Wheaton Enterprise Technology Services, AIT, Slate CRM Support, and Admission's management to improve the quality and efficiency of Slate CRM, recommending MarCom solutions to management and project stakeholders.Serves as the departmental lead in the development of strategic policies, procedures, and training as they relate to the enrollment CRM system. Understands Slate CRM functionality and potential, and continuously optimize it for marketing and communication effectiveness.Evaluates and develops processes or integration modification of existing systems to facilitate business or system goals. Troubleshoots, deploys new features, and documents and analyzes user business processes and requirements.This job description is intended to represent key areas of responsibilities; specific assignments may vary from time to time, and other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required, preferably with a focus in journalism, communication, marketing, or a related field. Master's degree desired.At least five to seven years of experience in marketingThorough understanding of and commitment to evangelical Christian tradition, theology, and values.Supervision and performance managementDeveloping and managing budgetsHighly creative, exceptional writing and editing abilities, and an eye for good graphic designDemonstrated ability to manage multifaceted projects, meeting deadlines with thorough planning and implementationA leader and team player with strong interpersonal skillsStrong project management skills and the ability to direct diverse creative and technical teams.Data-driven, strategic, and creative thinkingExperience with customer relationship management tools for enrollment and marketing communications, preferably with Technolutions Slate.Experience with web content management systems, preferably TerminalFour.Physical Requirements
