OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY
Fox TV StationsFOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.JOB DESCRIPTION
The Freelance Studio Technician is responsible for performing essential duties on the studio floor during live broadcasts as well as recorded production sessions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepares the Studio robotic cameras by targeting them prior to production.
Loads the prompter software, ensures that studio hand and foot controls are functioning properly and is prepared to run prompter as needed for some productions.
Calls up the correct lighting cues on an ETC lighting board prior to production and will change cues throughout production as needed.
Is responsible for cueing talent as well as placing set pieces and talent on cue marks throughout productions.
Will operate studio Jib camera as called for in show rundowns or by show director.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
Strong computer skills.
Detail oriented.
Excellent organizational skills.
Must be able to perform in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Excellent oral and written communications.
Education and experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. A degree from a university or college is a plus. Five years of experience in a television station with at least two years working as part of the crew for a live newscast. Steadicam experience is a plus.
