Location:Bowie ElementarySupport in the attainment of district goals by assisting the Digital Teacher Librarian in the delivery of library services to students through instructional and student-related assignments.

Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities

1. Perform assigned tasks under the general guidance of Library Media Specialist2. Assist in maintaining a balanced and updated collection to include assisting with the cataloguing and inventory of all library materials purchased with the library budget3. Assist in maintaining the use, distribution, and inventory of library media resources4. Collect money for lost, overdue or damaged resources and/or any authorized library event/function5. Assist with inventory, care and maintenance of equipment, books, and supplies.6. Assist with the supervision and monitoring of students throughout the school day inside and outside of the classroom, including the cafeteria, playground, physical education classes, boarding and exiting the bus, on community-based activities and other assigned activities.7. Assist in maintaining administrative/student records and prepare required reports.8. Perform other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this position.

Minimum Requirements• Must have?one?of the following educational requirements:?o Associates degree or higher from an accredited college/university.?o A minimum of forty-eight (48) semester college hours from an accredited college or university.?o High school diploma or GED equivalent recognized by the Texas Education Agency

• Work related experience with students (church-related schools, private schools, day camps, youth groups, licensed day care centers or similar experiences).

• Eligible to obtain a paraprofessional certificate issued by the State Board of Educator Certification.?• Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check.

Preferred Requirements• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Working Conditions Work Environment:• Computer, computer software programs and peripherals, teacher resource materials and equipment, copier, fax, and other equipment applicable to position.• Frequent exposure to: temperature extremes (hot and cold), humidity extremes, noise.

Physical Demands/Requirements:• Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions/deadlines; frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, balancing, pulling and pushing; reaching, repetitive hand motions, hearing, speaking clearly, visual acuity and prolonged data input; occasional lift/carry light, moderate 15-44 pounds.
