We are a litigation firm located in Laguna Beach, California, with a particular emphasis on practice in the prosecution and defense of legal malpractice cases, attorney-client fee disputes, real estate, and business litigation.
We have an opportunity for an Associate with at least 4 years of Business or Legal Malpractice law and litigation experience to join the firm’s expanding practice. Duties include, but are not limited to, performing legal research, drafting of legal memoranda, motions and pleadings, arguing motions, taking and defending depositions, managing cases with minimal direct oversight, attending court conferences, handling discovery-related activities and investigations, and drafting of position statements and dispositive motions, employee handbooks, policies, etc.

Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Associate Attorney to join our team in the Legal industry. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of litigation experience and must be well-versed in legal malpractice and business and commercial law. This is a full-time position that requires a strong work ethic, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in legal proceedings, draw up legal documents, and provide legal advice to clients on legal malpractice, business and commercial law matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze legal issues to ensure that clients are well-informed of their legal rights and obligations.
  • Prepare and draft legal pleadings, motions, and briefs, and argue motions and appeals in court.
  • Negotiate settlements and mediate disputes between parties, and participate in alternative dispute resolution processes.
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, and trials, and manage discovery and document production processes.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, and provide exceptional client service.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the state where the position is located.
  • Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience, with a strong emphasis on legal malpractice and business and commercial law.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal issues in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to identify and resolve legal issues effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Experience in alternative dispute resolution processes, including mediation and arbitration, preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
