Who We Are

We are the final remaining chain of full-service automotive repair shops in the valley, proudly owned and operated by a local family. With multiple locations spread across the valley, we are experiencing rapid expansion.

Job Description:

The Service Writer serves as the liaison between customers and the automotive service technicians. They are responsible for accurately documenting customer concerns, estimating repair costs, scheduling service appointments, and ensuring timely completion of repairs. The Service Writer also communicates with customers regarding service recommendations, updates on repair progress, and final invoices. Exceptional customer service skills, automotive knowledge, and organizational abilities are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Interaction:

Greet customers warmly and listen to their concerns regarding vehicle issues.Document customer concerns accurately and thoroughly.Explain service recommendations to customers in a clear and understandable manner.Provide estimates for repair costs and obtain customer approval before initiating repairs.Scheduling and Coordination:

Schedule service appointments based on technician availability and customer preferences.Coordinate with service technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs.Prioritize service orders based on urgency and customer needs.Documentation and Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, service requests, and repair orders.Document any additional repairs or changes to the initial service request.Prepare final invoices and review them with customers upon completion of repairs.Communication:

Communicate effectively with service technicians to relay customer concerns and repair instructions.Provide regular updates to customers regarding the status of their vehicle repairs.Address any customer concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.Technical Knowledge:

Possess a basic understanding of automotive systems and repairs.Stay updated on product knowledge and service procedures for various vehicle makes and models.Assist customers with basic technical questions and concerns.Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in automotive technology is preferred.Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in the automotive industry.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in computer software applications for scheduling and record-keeping.Attention to detail and accuracy in documenting customer information and service orders.Knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures is a plus.

Work Environment:

The environment can be busy and may involve occasional exposure to noise and vehicle fumes. The role requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting or moving of vehicle parts or equipment.
