As the SDAT Lead, responsible for working with the production organization in executing the production of the Crew Capsule. As the lead for the engineering authority on the build you will lead a cross functional team responsible for the integration of design, vehicle assembly, and integrated testing to deliver on program commitments for new vehicles. This role will indirectly manage various program engineers and functional groups that are critical to Crew Capsule design, assembly and test – such as Integrated Supply Chain, Quality, Production Technician Leads, and Production Support Engineering.

The SDAT Lead has accountability for scope, budget and schedule for the configuration, assembly, and integrated test of the vehicles, including managing the production of multiple vehicles at the same time. You are accountability for driving strategy, process, and priority for the vehicle production efforts to monitor performance and ultimately meet cost and schedule commitments for fielding the new vehicles. You are responsible for element-specific product structure architecture and implementation of the product structure. You will assess and drive compliance to the standards and processes for design, standard parts, configuration control and packaging of the vehicle. You will own compliance to external interface definition with other elements and will be responsible for the management of internal interfaces.

Minimum Qualifications:

10+ years of relevant industry experience in engineering, manufacturing, operations, or maintenance

B.S. degree in aerospace, mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering; physics; or other major requiring engineering or manufacturing core courses

Experience with the design, assembly, operations, and maintenance of a vehicle or similar system involving the integration of multiple electrical and/or mechanical subsystems

Knowledge of systems engineering practices, fabrication, integration processes, quality, and configuration management systems

Experience with planning, scheduling tools, Basis of Estimate, Work Breakdown Structure, Integrated Master Schedule, Critical Path Analysis, Material Resource Planning, Enterprise Resource Planning, Earned Value Management

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to earn trust and build positive, professional, and inclusive relationships

Able to set a high bar while hiring, developing, and retaining top talent

Passionate about space exploration and a future with millions of people living and working in space

Preferred Qualifications:

15+ years’ experience working on aerospace development programs or production lines

Successful experience leading a medium program with at least a $25M annual budget of 50+ people

Experience with design, assembly, operations, and maintenance of launch vehicles across a range of launch vehicle subsystems including avionics, fluids, mechanical and software

Project Management certification (PMP/Certified Project Manager) or Program Management Office (PMO) experience

Experience with Oracle Primavera P6, DOORS, CREO, Windchill, Jira

Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $174,585—$244,419 USD
