Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

The Senior Technical/Graphics Specialist provides advanced document processing services and general support, creating a variety of documents and materials using advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products and other firm supported software. The person in this role should be certified in a variety of firm software applications and have proficiency with a variety of graphic design and marketing programs. Responsibilities include using design software to create various marketing and other firm-branded materials; designing and implementing on-line promotional projects and on-line media; creating templates in various programs for use by marketing and other departments; creating and assembling client pitch materials; and assisting with more difficult and complex production assignments. The person in this position will also respond to inquiries regarding status of projects, answer routine and complex questions regarding basic applications, train and mentor the technical and document production specialists, and assist the IT department in answering routine and complex help desk questions. The Senior Technical/Graphics Specialist will provide coverage Monday - Friday, 1pm-10pm CST.

Qualifications

Minimum 7 years of progressive experience working in a graphic design environmentDegree in Graphic Design preferredCertification as a Microsoft Certified Application Specialist (MCAS) and ability to implement design solutions across Microsoft Office SuiteAdvanced knowledge and proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Experience with macro development and document shortcutsMicrosoft Word expertise should include the ability to troubleshoot non-standard documents, prepare tables of contents, prepare tables of authorities, set up and run mail merges, and create labels and badgesMicrosoft Excel expertise should include setting up spreadsheets, writing standard and complex formulas, complex formatting and setting printing parametersMicrosoft PowerPoint expertise should include formatting PowerPoint presentations using templates and standards, analyzing and resolving PowerPoint issuesAdobe Acrobat expertise should include converting documents to PDF, preparing CDs (create links between index and other files, prepare CD labels and jewel case covers and burn CDs); creating fill-able PDF forms, revising PDF documents, and preparing redactions of PDFsProficiency with several of the following software programs: AIA, Kanguru Burner Tower, Epson Print CD, OJOSoft Video Converter, Olympus Transcribing Software, DocXtools, Expert, OmniPage 14, Visio, document production tracking software programs, Adobe, and ChangePro.High proficiency with QuarkXpress, Dreamweaver, Adobe CS 5 (or higher), including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash, After Effects and PremiereAccurate and proficient typing skills (minimum of 75 words per minute preferred)Ability to produce accurate work product with minimum revisionExcellent proofreading skillsHigh level of technical aptitude and graphic creativityAbility to anticipate issues and opportunities and address them with limited to no supervisionAbility to analyze tasks in order to organize, prioritize and handle multiple projectsAbility to function in a high production environmentStrong customer service and communication skillsFlexibility to handle any tasks that are needed, maintain a flexible work schedule and work overtime as needed
