Company DescriptionSecond Chance Living PMI is a non-profit organization with a mission to improve the lives of justice-involved women in underserved communities by focusing on community resources that create measurable impact in workforce development, mental health, and reduce the probability of returning to prison. Our aim is to empower and support women in their transition to becoming independent and viable citizens in their families and communities. We offer a diverse set of services including career readiness training, entrepreneurship education, mental health counseling, finance and budgeting, and culture awareness.Role DescriptionThis is a volunteer role for a Social Media Coordinator Volunteer. The role is remote for 5 hours a week, with the Social Media Coordinator responsible for driving engagement on our social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn). The coordinator will work closely with the executive team to curate and distribute content that highlights the work that we do.ResponsibilitiesContent Creation: Develop engaging social media materials that align with our mission and values, including raising awareness about the issues surrounding incarceration and gender disparities, showcasing the impact of our work, and profiling our Executive Director and board members.Fundraising Promotion: Actively promote our annual fundraising events, including the November 5K and December ball, by creating content that encourages participation and donations.Content Scheduling: Utilize social media scheduling tools such as Sendible or Metricool to ensure consistent and timely posting across platforms, maintaining an active online presence.Community Engagement: Monitor and manage social media responses and connections, ensuring timely responses to comments, messages, and inquiries.Innovation: Collaborate with the team to brainstorm and implement innovative strategies to leverage social media for enhanced message promotion and fundraising efforts.Requirements :Familiarity with major social media platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter.Proficiency in using social media scheduling software.Willingness and ability to create, schedule, and manage social media content.Some prior experience in B2C (Business-to-Consumer) social media work.Strong alignment with the mission and values of Second Chance Living, PMI.Passion for social justice and issues facing justice-involved women in underserved communitiesExperience in designing graphics and templates using Canva, Photoshop, or Illustrator is a plus.SCLPMI is dedicated to diversity, equity, inclusion, and access and encourage people with conviction histories, people of color, women, people with disabilities, and those with other marginalized identities to apply.Industry
