Position Overview:

Reporting to the Director, IT Infrastructure & Business Applications and working in close coordination with the Senior Web Developer, Creative Services and web site section owners, the Principal Web Developer will work to architect and enhance the world-class Museum web sites to best utilize our web platform tools and services and to provide new sections, features and capabilities.

Essential Functions:The Principal Web Developer will support mfa.org, MFA for Educators, CAMEO, interactive hand-held tours and the display of information on large video screens, pylons and printed reports.The Principal Web Developer will work with the Director, IT Infrastructure & Business Applications and Senior Web Developer to develop a roadmap for the technical web platform to best provide web, image, collection data and video to the Museum community as needs and capabilities evolve over time.The Principal Web Developer will also work to improve the integration of the Museum web sites with TMS, the on-line MFA Shop, MFA Membership sales and MFA ticketing operations.The Principal Web developer will also lead web Development efforts which require working with modules, themes, blocks, views, permissions, and other aspects of Drupal, as well as writing PHP code to provide unique program logic and advanced features.The principal web Developer will make sure Dev/ Test/ Sandbox environments remain up to date and on same version that the production environment is on.The Principal Web Developer will provide backup support to the Senior web Developer.Requirements and Characteristics:

Bachelor’s Degree in MIS or Computer Science and 5-7 years of experiencePossess a high degree of technical aptitude a willingness and ability to learn new technologies rapidly, and a strong work ethic.Excellent organization, interpersonal, leadership and communication skills are requiredTechnical skills/ Primary, must-have skills:

At least 5-10 years of web of web development using a variety of software to include Drupal, PHP, mySQL, HTML, CSS and JQueryExperience with Agile project managementDrupal CommerceJavaScript FrameworksDrushApache web serverGitvideo hosting and SharePoint would be helpful.

Salary and schedule:

Full-Time Salary, 35 hours per week

$80,0000 - $85,000
