About the role:
As a technical expert for our data and analytics ecosystem you will support FIS business line reporting teams, Business Services, Data Services teams, external vendors, and implementation partners. Visualization Platform Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for the entire life cycle of the BI platform, research, implementation, integration with other data platform tools and service to provide a scalable, performant, and governed BI platform hosting products both for internal and external customers.
About the team:
Enterprise Big Data Solution provides FIS big Data capabilities including large scale data processing, analytics, fraud platforms, machine learning engineering, stream processing and data insights. We are a cloud first organization; Enterprise Big Data Solution help maintain and advance cloud data platforms and services to build data products powering our business services and customers
What you will be doing
Automate operation, installation, and monitoring of the data visualization platform components in our infrastructure stack in cloud and in on-premises data centers
Manage and resolve critical support issues with a high degree of technical complexity
Measure and monitor service and support performance and health (SLAs, KPIs, etc.)
Plan and implement upgrades of tools and design system enhancements with emerging features.
Collaborate with engineering team on technical strategies, design patterns, and practices relevant to the optimization and continuous improvement of BI platform within the organization
Design, optimize, document, and implement the operational aspects for administering various BI tools within FIS data platform ecosystem
Develop and maintain operational runbooks and training curricula for support team
Provide enterprise-wide data visualization technical oversight and mentorship for geographically dispersed colleagues and contracted team members
Implement release management, governance, cost monitoring, user security auditing and performance optimizations to improve customer experience and system reliability
Apply emerging and traditional technologies for analytics improvements in support of enterprise analytics platform strategy
What you bring:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field.
Minimum 3+ years of experience with BI and data visualization development and/or platform management.
Minimum 5+ years of technical role experience
Extensive hands-on experience with SQL.
Experience with implementing and maintaining high availability production systems
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with an aptitude for learning new technologies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface with both technical and non-technical individuals as needed.
Experience with BI platforms like Tableau, WebFocus, ThoughtSpot, PowerBI, or similar tools.
Strong Windows and/or Linux system administration experience.
Experience working with SQL and cloud based relational databases such as Snowflake.
Experience with authentication and authorization systems like LDAP, Kerberos, AD, and IAM.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Experience debugging networking issues such as DNS resolutions, proxy settings, security groups
Experience with developing monitoring architecture and implementing monitoring agents, dashboards, escalations, and alerts
Knowledge of security controls for the public cloud (encryption of data in motion/rest and key management)
Strong development skills in Python or other scripting language
Added bonus if you have:
BI tool administration certification
AWS certification
