JOB SUMMARY

The bilingual Front-end Web Developer maintains the front-end user experience for the Lakewood English and Spanish family of websites. They translate the Lakewood organization's and user's needs into functional, appealing, and interactive web applications. The Bilingual Front-end Web Developer is fluent in English and Spanish and creates functional and attractive digital web environments that ensure outstanding user experience and ease of use for content editors.

This position reports directly to the Web Content Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONAdvance the look and feel of the Lakewood family of websites through the modification of style sheets, HTML, and javascript filesMake minor tweaks to functionality as needed to help support the Web Content TeamAct as a technical resource for the Web Content Team, supporting the team in more technical web content updates that require coding knowledgeResponsible for building and coding landing pages from design concepts provided to them in layered art filesNavigate a variety of platforms and be self-propelled in their thinking to discover and find where an update needs to be made and to know what resources are needed in order to facilitate any number of web changesDeliver code that is cross-browser compatible and "mobile-first" in designCollaborate with other team members and stakeholdersEnsure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and pitch solutions for designs that may not be technically feasibleHandle sensitive, confidential information and assignments with tact, discretion, and diplomacyOther related duties as assignedMINISTERIAL DUTIES

Uncompromised commitment to Lakewood Church's vision, values, and core beliefsProficiency in HTML, CSS and javascript a mustA working knowledge of React is requiredMust be fluent in both English and SpanishThe ideal candidate has some design knowledge and will act as a bridge between design and development to improvise mobile layouts when only a desktop layout is provided or vice-versaWell-rounded experience in various CMS platforms (Optimizely, Sitecore, and Wordpress experience are a plus)Basic understanding of javascript and javascript libraries such as jqueryA willingness to learn and stay up to speed on coding trendsBasic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image (familiarity with Photoshop or Sketch is a plus)Excellent team work, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to multi-task and demonstrate effective time management skillsSelf-motivated, with ability to work independently as well as collaborativelyDemonstrated ability to meet deadlines and expectationsPro-active approach, flexibility, and a positive attitude is extremely importantAble to give and receive constructive critiqueProficient in Microsoft OfficeEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

BA/BS degree required or equivalent work experience3-5 years of related experience
