Authorization Coordinator PDMClick Here to Apply OnlineJob DescriptionLocation: Mountain Vista Medical CenterPosted Date: 4/18/2024Job Type: Per DiemDepartment: 4003.40600 CARE MGTAbout Mountain Vista Medical CenterMountain Vista Medical Center is a 178-bed, state-of-the-art hospital located in east Mesa, Arizona, offering comprehensive health care services, including emergency care, heart care, advanced surgical procedures, orthopedics, breast care, maternity care, and women's services.Position Summary:The Authorization Coordinator assumes primary responsibility of communicating with payors to obtain authorization. Provide clinical information to payor as requested. Document authorization numbers, concurrent denial, attempts to overturn concurrent denials and coordinate Peer-to-Peer communication as needed for all patient hospital stays. Follow-up communication with payors to ensure authorization obtained for patient hospitalization. Communicate appropriately with Care Manager and Social Worker regarding authorization status and payor requests.Requirements:High School Diploma/GED1-2 years' experience within a healthcare setting Must possess a thorough working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care.Ability to come into the hospital as needed Preferred:3 + years' experience About Steward Health CareNearly a decade ago, Steward Health Care System emerged as a different kind of health care company designed to usher in a new era of wellness.
