Position Summary:Drafts and prepares detailed part prints for internally designed components. These part prints will be utilized during the quoting phase and will serve as a cornerstone for supplier quality evaluations.Position Responsibilities:
Create complex technical drawings to company standards and ASME Y14.5Create assembly printsParticipate in the documentation of assembly processesAssist in building prototype vehiclesCreate 3D models for jigs and templatesOperate 3D printers and LasersAble to travel to support prototype builds and test fit sessionsMaintain company standard drafting proceduresWork with suppliers and customers to resolve documentation issuesUpdates designs from verbal or written instructions.Performs unusually difficult assignments requiring considerable initiative, resourcefulness, and drafting expertise.Ensures that anticipated problems in manufacture, assembly, installation, and operation are resolved by the drawings produced.Collaborates with suppliers to relay critical to quality characteristics and receive feedback on supplier manufacturing concernsExercises independent judgment in selecting and interpreting data based on knowledge of the design intent.Although working primarily as drafter, may occasionally interpret general designs prepared by others to complete details.Serve as a coordinator and planner for large and complex drafting projects.Provide details on component descriptions.Review and analyze specifications.Draft technical details.Draw in minute details of structures.Consult technical handbooks and tables while in drafting phase.Create and store drawings electronically.Specific Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:
Ability to utilize Solidworks for part print creationKnowledge of drafting techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.Knowledge of the practical application principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to document the design and production of technical products.Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.Competencies:
