Job Description:MEI has a job opportunity for a Mechanical Designer with a background in Plumbing Design to be an integral member of our Mechanical design team. The scope of projects will include data centers, industrial buildings, offices, and other high-profile construction projects. This role will be highly collaborative amongst MEI staff, clients, vendors, and external disciplines. MEI is committed to providing opportunities for professional development and growth. This role will be based in Austin, TX.

Job Duties :Support the design and document production of mechanical and plumbing systems for various projectsWriting and editing of mechanical equipment specifications, selecting equipment, mechanical systems, and devicesReview submittals, RFIs, change orders, preparation of record drawings, site visits, inspections and participation in commissioning workEnsure jobs are completed accurately, within deadlines and on budget

Minimum Qualifications :Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related fieldSkills in HVAC design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, load software, etc.Familiarity with HVAC codes, standards, and best practicesGood communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesTop-notch organization, attention to detail combined with excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications :Proficiency in BIM, CFD, Energy Modeling or other advanced tools and methods for HVAC design and analysisCertification from ASHRAE, LEED, or other relevant organizationsExperience in green building or energy efficiency projects, such as LEED, ENERGY STAR, or USGBCCommissioning experienceActive PE LicensePlumbing design experience
