Job Title: Mechanical Designer

Job Purpose

TheMechanical Designer will support the Project Engineer with delivering detailed layouts to achieve a workable design prototype or assembly. These designs are mainly related to Wireline and MWD type instruments or some downhole tools. The designer is responsible for completing detailed designs of all components within the final layout and provides assistance in building and testing the final product and assemblies.

Nature of Duties/ResponsibilitiesProvide design layouts for mechanical parts and assembliesDetail design of mechanical piece parts and assembliesSpecify mechanical tolerances and determine stack-up for proper assemblyMaintain documents engineering change statusPrepare and update assemblies and BOM'sProvide design clarifications to machining vendors

Education and Experience

• Two years Mechanical drafting or technical degree

• Knowledge of machine shop practice is a plus

• 4-6years of experience with Solid-Works

• Knowledge of Auto-Cad 14. Familiarity with Auto-Cad is a plus.

• Understanding of ANSI Y14.5 Standards

• Practice of GD&T.

• Hands-on exposure to mechanical assemblies and repair

• Familiar with Machinery's Handbook standard design practices

• 5+ years related mechanical design and drafting experience

• Experience with downhole tools, and machine parts design is a plus
