About the team and the role:
The Advertising Team is reinventing advertising at eBay! We're creating innovative ad-tech solutions to optimize the ad monetization and experience on eBay. Our goal is to create a valuable experience for both buyers and sellers, while also driving performance for advertisers. To that end, we are innovating rapidly in the ad-tech space and there is no shortage of new challenges for motivated individuals.
As a Frontend Engineer, you will work closely with designers, product managers and other engineers (frontend, backend, machine learning, quality) to revolutionize the advertising space for eBay and beyond. You will also work on backend related projects ~30% of the time.

Design new experiences for eBay sellers and advertisers to promote their products, manage their advertising campaigns, and improve their salesBuild highly available, scalable user facing applications and RESTful Public APIs while maintaining a cadence of building, testing, and deploying your code in a continuous mannerDevelop systems using Node.js, Java & ScalaOperate within our internal open source community where we share a variety of projects and codebasesExecute as part of a cross-functional Agile team that rapidly delivers iterative value to customersLead by example and share knowledge with the team, contributing to technical conversations and debates, and deciding upon approaches and tools to utilizeWhat you will bring:
BS/BA in Computer Science or related field plus 5 years work experience or MS with 3 years of relevant experienceExperience in unit test with mock (Jest or Jasmine preferred), Automation testing is a plusKnowledge of NodeJS (Express desired), ReactJS and Redux is a plusExperience with Node.js, Javascript, Java, Scala, Oracle/NOSQL DBsExperience in building large scale Web Services and Backend Applications using Java/J2EE, RESTful Web Services, HTTP and JSON technologiesKnowledge of core CS concepts such as common data structures and algorithmsFull stack experience developing in Scala/Python and working with Hadoop and related tools is a plus
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.$114,800 - $176,550Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
