Serves as primary contact for the benefits and authorization, English and Spanish, phone queue system and other electronic multi-media requests (email, patient case, etc.).Provides customer service to patients by obtaining and updating patient insurance information and providing education to patients regarding benefits, copays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expense.Ensures that patient benefit amounts are correctly entered into the EHR, allowing front desk to collect appropriately.Communicates effectively to patients regarding changes in their benefits or plan requirements.Reports recurring insurance payment discrepancies and work with revenue cycle management to resolve.Demonstrates good judgement in escalating identified patient concerns, root causes and trends to revenue cycle management to ensure timely resolution and communication to patients.Follows federal, state and local regulatory requirements related to patient finances. Adheres to established timelines per organizational policy.Meets or exceeds established performance targets established by the Clinical Revenue Cycle Director.Maintains working day-to-day knowledge of the EHR.Other duties and special projects as assigned.
