Computer Aided Design Technician

CAD Drafter based in Cartersville, GA for a leading manufacturing company. This role is responsible to produce customer shop drawings, installation instructions, and internal manufacturing drawings. To be considered - must have at least two (2) years experience creating accurate technical drawings using CAD systems.
This is a contract to hire opportunity to join a growing organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Work with CAD systems creating, modifying and releasing drawings under direct supervision of a supervisor for use by other departments and customers.Work closely with all departments in the factory to ensure that the drawings convey the correct information.Self-check own work for completeness, accuracy, compliance to standards, fits and stack-ups.May be responsible for some design elements.Work from drawings, sketches or scanned images, customer drawings, or government drawings or specifications.Use the accepted drawing standards as guidelines.Assist supervisor and co-workers as necessary.Keep work area neat and clean.Other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:High school degree or equivalent required. College degree preferred.Two to three years previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience.Knowledge & understanding of SolidWorks or AutoDesk Inventor 3D Software.Knowledge & understanding of AutoCAD software preferred.Ability to accurately use measuring devices such as micrometers and dial calipers preferred.Technical writing experience preferred.Familiar with 3d printer setup and operation preferred.Intermediate computer skills required; Outlook.CAD certification/technical degree required.
