Social media management and broadcast messaging are both growing and in-demand fields in the world of progressive politics. This job is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor with a growing team at Middle Seat and take the lead in running client social media & texting programs. We're looking for self-starters who love to write, raise money online, design graphics, and follow the news of the day.

NOTE : This is a temporary, full-time position on our team starting June 17, 2024 and ending on December 13, 2024.

Lead 3-5 client social media accounts and/or texting programs and provide feedback to strategists and coordinators on your accountsCrafting and implementing social media management and growth strategiesContributing to the growth of client social media followingsUtilize social media to fundraise and build lists for clientsPosting on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and other client social media platformsMaintaining a robust cadence of social media posting that is responsive to breaking news and other major momentsMaintaining a consistent posting cadence for each platformCreating graphics and short-form videos for social media postsOverseeing social media posting schedules & texting calendars and ensuring a robust and consistent cadenceResearching issues relevant to our clients in order to identify salient topics and content for social media posts and graphicsRemaining plugged in to political news and overall trends in progressive politics and social mediaManaging and interfacing with clients directly (potentially including Members of Congress and candidates for federal office)Draft copy for fundraising and mobilization through SMS and develop calendars for client programsManage texting production and develop other assets, such as mobile flows, landing pages, donation pages, and more.Propose ideas for testing, segmentation, and optimization.Lead list growth strategy from start to finish with multi-layered media plans, including managing acquisition buys for phone numbers and budgeting campaigns.Develop and manage P2P texting campaigns across clientsPulling, compiling, analyzing, and synthesizing social media and texting performance metrics into reports and presenting to clientsBuild processes within client teams and within department, with guidance of manager/Department DirectorContribute to overall department success, such as developing training materials, participating in sales pitches, and assisting in hiring/onboardingOversee interns as neededRequirements

3-5 years of experience in professional social media management (or similar) for major platformsAt least 1-2 years of experience with peer-to-peer and/or broadcasting texting for political clientsAble to manage client projects largely without assistanceDemonstrated commitment to and knowledge of progressive politicsStrong copywriting skillsAbility to write for various social media platforms and adapt to different principalsMajority of writing is free of errorsAbility to adapt writing to conform to client voices and perspectivesA desire to play a key role in social media and fundraising for major political campaigns, nonprofits, and causesAttention to detail while managing tight deadlines and multiple content calendarsPrevious fundraising experience strongly preferredBasic graphic design and video editing skills preferred but not requiredKnowledge of ActBlue and various CRMs (Action Kit, BSD, Action Network, NGP, etc.) preferred but not requiredBenefits
