The Sr. Instructional Designer will be responsible for instructional design of courses in support of technical project implementation. They will create new training documents and modules as well as re-work existing vendor created training materials to facilitate successful learning outcomes and goals. The position will act as the liaison between the change management team, our outside project management team and SMEs, and other key partners.

Main system implementation projects include the conversion of the organization’s current ERP SAP system to S/4 HANA, implementation of the new Human Capital Management (HCM) system, as well as other technology-related projects requiring technical training development.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:

Collaborates with partners to assess their specific training needs in support of technical and technology related projects.

Partners with change management team and project team on an overall curriculum design including considering role-based course curriculum.

Drafts course outlines including learning outcomes and goals based on the end user job roles and tasks.

Develops all training materials to fulfill on course outlines, including facilitator guides and presentations, exercises and scenarios, participant guides, quick reference guides, one-point lessons, and job aids.

Creates new training documents and modules as well as re-working existing vendor created training materials to facilitate successful learning outcomes and goals.

Works with subject matter experts to understand content of training from an end user perspective.

Conducts Train-the-Trainer sessions and works with trainers to ensure they are confident and capable delivering training material.

Conducts training sessions, webinars, and workshops when needed.

May create eLearning courseware.

Works with task recorders and other authoring tools to create materials.

Works with translators to ensure training material is translated accurately, if needed.

Collaborates with SMEs, business process owners, and vendor partners to ensure appropriate training materials are developed in accordance with established adult learning principles.

Creates an ongoing new hire/sustainability training plan for new users and refresher training for existing users.

Publishes and distributes training materials and content through our learning management systems.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Ability to establish relationships with partners and subject matter experts (SMEs) to efficiently collect information and foster a collaborative working environment

In-depth understanding of instructional design models and learning theories

·

Knowledge of modern training techniques and tools in technical subjects

Advanced technical skills in e-learning and mobile training and proficiency in industry-standard authoring tools

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners

Clear and effective curriculum-planning skills

Excellent organizational and time-management abilities

Proficient in Microsoft Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, etc.) and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)

Proven ability to guide training sessions in a variety of formats that may include in person, virtual and/or webinar

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in adult education, learning science, instructional design, educational technology, technical writing, training development, or a related discipline (e.g., information technology) is preferred.

5+ years of relevant instructional design experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role

Experience with online learning, learning design for mobile, designing and storyboarding for a wide variety of formats and audiences

Preferred

Bilingual in Spanish and English

Learning Management Systems (LMS) and/or online learning system experience

Certification such as CTT+ (Certified Technical Trainer)

Work Conditions & Physical Requirements:

Work is performed in an office environment with personal computers, and printers.

The noise level of the environment is usually moderate.

Sedentary position with seldom to occasional lifting of less than 25 pounds.

May require standing less than or equal to 1/3 of the day.

Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
