Posted: Feb 8, 2024Role Number: 200537752Apple's Synthetic Data Group is looking for someone well versed in modern computer graphics techniques to help solve our unique problems of scale and visual fidelity. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast paced start-up style environment and be able to function well in a multi functional team addressing both immediate technical needs and providing long term solutions. The role will focus on solving complicated computer graphics problems at scale. Expert level experience working with and generating synthetic content within tradition CG frameworks or ML based generative models is key to be successful in this role. Knowledge of production in games, films or VFX will help translate internal and external needs, as will a background and exposure to Machine Learning algorithms.

10+ year of industry experience contributing to rendering and or shading engineering technologiesStrong experience in 3D graphics including rendering, lighting and shadingExperience with Shader Languages and writing custom shadersProduction experience focused on large scale content generation in films, VFX, games or similar fields.Strong 3D math skills (linear algebra)Knowledge of modern renderers and rendering techniquesExperience with both realtime game engines and offline rendering solutionsFamiliarity with various 3D graphics algorithms, and data-structuresExcellent debugging skills

Description

DescriptionHelp take your knowledge of rendering and shading and translate the results into innovative novel algorithms used by Apple customers around the world in products ranging from Vision Pro to iPhone and iPad. Create and define the workflows and data generation techniques used by Synthetic Data Engineers and Machine Learning Engineers as they help shape the growing field. We are looking for candidates with a passion for generating high quality synthetic images, by whatever means their expertise provides. The role will focus on taking advantage of the latest advances in rendering technologies to generate robust synthetic data used to train a wide range of Machine Learning algorithms.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $170,700.00 and $300,200.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
