Job Description

Special Olympics International (SOI) seeks an experienced Marketing, Communications and PR professional with a comprehensive knowledge of branding, positioning, public relations, client facing support, and a passion for creative human-interest storytelling to help amplify inclusion for the global disability community, and highlight key corporate clients invested in our work. This position serves as the lead strategic media advisor to the corporate team.

Candidates should possess strong knowledge and experience in marketing, internal & external communications, and public relations strategy, including digital and content marketing and communications, content development, social media, news media and special events. The role requires an expert collaborator who is positive and energetic, with outstanding communication and writing skills, copywriting, and social media marketing skills. The Director of Marketing & Communications, Corporate Partnerships is a functionally matrixed position and closely collaborates with the Corporate Partnerships and the Brand, Communications & Content teams.

Primary Responsibilities

Collaborate with business teams to develop engaging marketing, PR, communications, and brand integration strategies in support of key global corporate client accounts.Develop effective strategies that inform, educate, and influence stakeholders and highlight social impact stories supported by SOI partnerships through owned, earned and paid media channels and special events.Develop curated content and promotional materials around activations featuring athletes, partner executives and employees, and other key stakeholders (stories, testimonials/quotes, videos, graphics).Distribute content across digital channels and through public relations efforts to advance client recognition tied to social impact like sport development, unified sports, inclusive health programs and leadership training.Create templates for local activation markets, monitor output, and collect assets for reporting across media, client distributed content, and social media.Collaborate and serve as a liaison with the Brand, Communications & Content team to ensure consistent branding and messaging specific to all corporate partners.Craft and gain buy-in for high-level strategic communications plans aligned with organizational and partner priorities. Create timebound communications plans for corporate activations and track the effectiveness of the communication strategies.Create comprehensive library of assets including mission impact, brand stats, reach reports, media highlights, partner case studies, key funding needs (ie: Major Games, programmatic areas and general mission support), CSR and DE&I industry trends for prospecting purposes.Track and develop campaigns, impact, and visibility reports for key partnerships across various owned, earned, and paid media channels and special events based on key performance metrics and tracking tools. Translate results into relevant ROI insights and assets for clients including compelling employee engagement stories, leadership testimonials and athlete assets and interviews.Build media relations and develop contacts with media members, CSR and marketing agency influencers, CSR conferences and award recognition opportunities, to advance SOI mission and client social impact goals.Pitch thought leadership and client social impact to media, handling interviews, messaging, and statements.Provide support for internal communications highlighting partner activations and stories.Requirements and skills

7-10 years of relevant work experienceBS/BA in marketing, communications, advertising, or related disciplineProven work experience as a Marketing Communications leaderFamiliarity with B2B brand integrations and communications strategiesEstablished media relations a plusOutstanding organizational and planning abilities and project management skills requiredExcellent oral and written communication, copywriting, editing and presentation skillsExperience with digital content and social media marketing campaignsProficiency in MS Office and knowledge of Google Analytics/AdWords, video, and photo-editing a plusProficiency with Microsoft Office, content management systems, and design softwareHigh energy, sense of humor and passion for team collaborationFamiliarity with Cision a plusTravel to be expected (up to 20%)
