Monett R-1 School District is accepting applications for a library assistant at the Monett Intermediate School and Middle School for the 2024/2025 shool year. This position assists the librarian in managing the library resources, assists students and staff with all library needs, performs various clerical duties, and teaches keyboarding skills to 4th and 5th grade students. This position may also include teaching library classes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policiesCreates and maintains student/staff library accounts in AlexandriaMaintains circulation records of library books, reference material in AlexandriaTracks overdue and lost books and assists with collection of fees for these itemsProcesses check-in and check-out of all library materialsReshelving booksRepairs all damaged booksProcesses new books by stamping, covering, and adding appropriate color label for reading levelsSupervises all students during library and keyboarding classesSupervises and assists students with keyboarding programAssists students/staff with locating appropriate library materialsAssists with set-up and running of special events, such as open house and book fairsMaintains an organized, clean, and inviting librarySupervises and assists with virtual speech classes as neededAssists librarian with book displays and maintaining bulletin boardsAssists with year-end inventoryAttends all staff meetings (if applicable).Professionally represents the school and the District in interactions with parents, community, staff, and students.
