Located in the Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina, Lake Junaluska is a conference and retreat center that hosts over 50,000 overnight guests annually. We have over 400 lodging rooms, a campground, and meeting space for up to 2,000 people. All facilities are located on a scenic 1,200 acres that boasts panoramic views, abundant recreation opportunities and a 200-acre lake.Our market ranges from youth groups to affluent leisure guests primarily from the Southeastern United States.Position Summary

The Marketing Coordinator at Lake Junaluska helps implement an array of marketing programs that support the mission and ministry of Lake Junaluska. Primary tasks include posting to and monitoring social media, assisting with photos, basic graphic design for print and digital projects, updating website content, assisting with placing and tracking print orders and advertisements, and other day-to-day activities. The Marketing Coordinator will also provide overall support for the functionality, coordination and efficiency of the Marketing department. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, energetic, results-driven, collaborative, inspired by our mission and interested in all facets of marketing.Position Responsibilities

Digital MarketingAssist in managing online presence with an emphasis on accurate, user-friendly, optimized and engaging content.Update and monitor website content.Build and schedule email newsletters.Assist Marketing Director with vendors to facilitate online advertising campaigns.Monitor online brand reputation and assist with management responses where needed for online review websites including Google, TripAdvisor and Expedia, LinkedIn, and more.Monitor and manage social media accounts, including Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn and Instagram, ensuring images and copy are consistent with organizational identity and positioning.Conduct social media listening, finding posts to repost as well as monitoring posts for guest and visitor feedback, track and provide analysis.Monitors and utilizes analytics as needed for reports and tracking.Advertising and Creative Services

Assist in design and creation of promotional marketing materials, both print and digital.Designs, creates and posts promotional and informative posters.Work with departments across Lake Junaluska to create professional and well-branded documents, promotional publications and signage.Photography & Media

Take photos and occasional short videos of concerts, meetings, worship and other events, as well as scenic shots of the lake for use in marketing materials, including speaking with guests and requesting their permission to be photographed.Coordinate with photographers and videographers to capture images and video for use in marketing materials.Edit photos and basic videos for online and print.Upload and archive photos; manage a database of photos.Maintain an up-to-date and well-organized media library.Submit requests to the Marketing Director for removal of out-of-date content.Public Relations Support

Assist with news events and community announcements.Posts/updates events to regional calendars.Additional Responsibilities

Maintain traditional and digital mailing lists and regional calendar event listings.Compile documentation needed to request reimbursement of grant funds; maintain spreadsheet to track fulfillment of grant funds.Monitor grant applications, reimbursements and supporting documents.Help develop and maintain distribution lists, including working within databases and registration systems.Ensure promotional materials are displayed around campus and with regional partner agencies.Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures and report any unsafe activities or conditions immediately to supervisor or the Human Resources department.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned and required.Instructions for Completion of Application

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required minimum Associate's degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Photography or related field with a minimum of 2 years' relevant experience and training.Preferred Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 1 year of experience or an equivalent combination training and internship experience.Must have excellent organization and communication skills.Should be highly motivated, team-oriented, creative and collaborative.Able to work in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, WordPress, Constant Contact and Google Workspace; Experience with software is preferred.Knowledge and experience with both digital and print advertising.Strong communication skills, writing and verbal.Professional knowledge of and comfort working with social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube.Experience with taking and editing photos for marketing initiatives.Experience with basic video projects is preferred.Must possess excellent hospitality skills and a strong desire to foster an attitude of Christian hospitality.Candidates should possess experience in journalism, marketing and/or communication.
