Nature of Work:

The Sr. Director of Marketing for the Colorado Avalanche is considered an important leader of the department and is expected to act as a main liaison that connects all internal departments involved with the Colorado Avalanche. A true brand champion, the Sr. Director of Marketing is responsible for maintaining and promoting the key mission and values of the Avalanche through in-market activations, content collaborations, and promotional opportunities.

Brand StrategyDevelops and leads a multi-faceted marketing and brand strategy focused on enhancing revenue opportunities, building the brand, increasing fan engagement, driving ticket sales and driving sponsorable opportunitiesDesigns and implements comprehensive marketing strategies to inspire new fandom and further develop current fandomAssists in development of unified brand identity across all deliverables and channelsDrafts and presents insightful and on-trend proposals that support key campaign initiativesAssists in creating a narrative to drive compelling storytellingReviews and approves the usage of brand marks in Sponsorship cross-promotion creative to ensure adherence to brand guidelinesActivation

Collaborates across the organization to build, manage and execute year-long promotional, events, sponsorship, and community involvement calendarIncreases brand awareness and fan engagement through ideation, planning and execution of season long events and activations - including concept proposals and end of season/campaign recapsCollaborates across the organization to develop, grow and execute NHL initiatives and campaignsIntegration

Works in close partnership with, and drives synergy between, Marketing and all internal stakeholders (Sponsorship, Tickets Sales, Game Presentation, Digital, Community Relations)Collaborates with Sponsorship to create and monetize assets that support the Colorado Avalanche brand and partner objectivesWorks with other local teams, organizations and fan groups to identify integration opportunities to amplify objectivesManagement

Minimum

7+ years experience in Marketing, Brand Management, Event Management or related field with at least 2 years of experience in a leadership/management

positionBS/BA degree in marketing, communications, or related fieldApplicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred

Previous sports industry experience highly preferredAbility to acquire or produce and maintain a valid driver's license and meet company vehicle driving standards.
