Position Summary:

Must be enroleld as a student at Methodist College. To provide assistance to the Director of Library Services and students.

Qualifications:

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Must be organized, have good customer service skills be self-motivated and able to multi-task. Data entry skills, organizational skills, ability to operate a wide variety of copy related equipment, moderate to heavy listing, basic math skills and ability to follow written instructions accurately are required.Capable of using computers and Microsoft Office, ability to work within an office setting, customer service and communication skills, pays attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines also required.

Essential Functions:

Assists patrons both in person and on the phone.

Refers patrons to librarian when unable to answer questions.

Uses good telephone skills when answering the hone, taking messages, or finding information for patrons.

Performs basic circulation duties in a timely and efficient manner.

Shelves books using the National Library of Medicine classification system.

Maintains the cleanliness, orderly and security of the Library.

Maintains an accurate statistical log of patron use of the library.

Troubleshoots problems with computers, copy machine, circulation system, etc.

Provides clerical support when needed.

Assists with orientation of new Library student workers.

Maintains professionalism and confidentiality
