Overall Responsibility:

The Direct Marketing Director is a strategic leadership role responsible for developing and executing comprehensive direct marketing fundraising strategies to acquire, steward, and re-engage donors in support of Food For The Poor's mission. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this role will collaborate closely with the marketing team to integrate direct marketing efforts with broader marketing initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Will lead system-oriented direct marketing activities, leveraging technology and data-driven approaches to maximize donor engagement and revenue generation.

Duties:Develop content and resources for building direct marketing fundraising capacity, with a focus on print fundraising by implementing multi-channel direct marketing strategies to acquire, welcome, and re-engage donors, mainly thru direct mail and data analysis.Collaborate with the marketing team to integrate direct marketing campaigns with broader marketing initiatives, ensuring consistent messaging and branding across all channels.Manage direct mail campaigns using software systems to facilitate list segmentation, creative design, printing, and mailing. Utilize campaign management tools to track responses and analyze campaign performance.Manage relationships with direct marketing partners and fundraising software providers and provide regular updates and present relevant data.Make direct funding recommendations; donor acquisition strategy and testing (review progress reports; etc.) related to direct marketing fundraising programs.Collaborate with internal stakeholders and content experts in Marketing & Digital Services to continually improve direct marketing fundraising and track impact on donor acquisition goals and retention.Collaborate with teams across FFTP to leverage direct & digital marketing capacity to meet other objectives and reach other audiences so as to refresh donor pipelineMonitor, review, and synthesize evolving trends, practices and industry news related to effective digital and direct marketing fundraising - serving as a subject matter expert on direct marketing fundraising.Track donor interactions, donor profiles, and facilitate personalized communication. Utilize CRM systems to segment donors, track donations, and measure engagement.Lead and mentor a team of direct marketing professionals, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to drive team success and growth.Manage direct marketing budgets, monitor expenses, and track return on investment (ROI) to ensure efficient allocation of resources and alignment with fundraising goals.Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including data privacy laws, fundraising regulations, and industry best practices, maintaining ethical standards in all direct marketing activities.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business administration, or a related field is required. Master's degree preferred. At least 7 years of progressive leadership experience in direct marketing, fundraising, or donor engagement, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth through direct marketing channels.
