Position:

Kenton County Public Library is seeking a full-time Adult Programmer for the Independence Branch. Our Programming Department works to cultivate an environment of engagement that connects people with the library and each other. Under the direction of the Programming Coordinator, they will work to meet the diverse needs of adults in our community and regularly work on the Public Service Desks providing direct customer service to our patrons.

Schedule includes evenings, weekends, and outside of regular library hours.

Responsibilities:Plans and implements innovative and engaging programs for adults.Supports "patron first" practices.Coordinates with other departments and branches for system-wide programsWorks large events, including after-hours and reoccurring teen events.Working with the Public Relations department, promotes programs including appearing on television and social media.Reports statistics and shares reflections on programmingCollaborates with Patron Experience staff to creatively utilize space and promote circulation.Cross trained at public services desks and expected to regularly provide customer service to patrons.Act as Staff-in-Charge in the absence of Branch and Division ManagersMust be able to enforce the Code of Conduct, Internet Use, Safe Child, and other similar policies in a proactive, impartial manner.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or combination of education and relevant work experience required.Exceptional communication and teamwork skillsAbility to thrive in an environment of experimentation.Analytical ability to define and solve problems.Knowledge and familiarity with computers and new technologyAbility to obtain and maintain certification through the Kentucky State Board for the Certification of Libraries.Must be able to lift 30 lbs. and carry 10 ft. must be able to push and/or pull 100 lbs.
