Job DescriptionUS CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED#LI-SW1BAE Systems, Space & Mission Systems Sector (BAE Systems SMS) is searching for an experienced, forward-thinking Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) and Outreach Specialist to join their Marketing & Communications team (MarCom). This position is part of the Strategic Operations (StratOps) organization.

As a key member of the MarCom team, the STEM & Outreach Specialist's primary purpose is to support the BAE Systems SMS Sector's community outreach, which includes developing and organizing STEM and outreach events, workshops and event-related resources and materials that align with the BAE Systems SMS strategic priorities. Reporting to the STEM & Outreach Manager, this role also works closely with the BAE Systems Inc. Community Relations team on community outreach activations and activities.

The Strategic Operations (StratOps) Strategic Capabilities Unit, consists of Washington DC Operations, Marketing & Communications and Strategic Development. The StratOps team promotes and elevates the business within our markets, works with customers and industry to influence and drive growth and facilitate collaboration across the business enterprise to increase opportunities.

W hat You'll Do:Work with the STEM & Outreach Manager to execute on a comprehensive community and STEM outreach strategy that aligns with the BAE Systems SMS Sector's strategic priorities to engage, inspire, and attract future generations to STEM education and programs.Develop and design innovative education and outreach materials that attract age groups from K-12 grades to college level.Work alongside the STEM & Outreach Manager to support volunteer coordination and supervision of STEM and outreach within BAE Systems SMS Sector and with external organizations.Write STEM & outreach related website features, internal stories, press releases and social media posts.Work with the MarCom team to develop materials to promote STEM and outreach events.Work closely with the Customer Engagement and Events team on potential STEM activations aligned with customer events, trade shows and launches.Collaborate and partner with the BAE Systems Inc. Community Relations team to support global outreach and community efforts.Take photos and video at STEM and outreach events.Serve as a liaison to a BAE Systems SMS Sector Strategic Business Unit (SBU) or Strategic Capability Unit (SCU), which will include developing a strategic communications plan for the SBU or SCU or and working with members of the MarCom team to execute on all internal and external communications to support the SBU/SCU.Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.Perform other duties as necessary.

O n-Site Work Environment:

This position requires regular in-person engagement by working

on-site three or more days

each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations will be required.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Bachelor's degree plus 6 or more years related experience.Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.A mindset of innovation and creative solutions.Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.Solid general business acumen and intellectual curiosity.Self-motivated; comfortable working independently or in a team setting.Excellent communications skills.Solid collaboration skills.Ability to think strategically.Action-oriented/Drive for results.Experience with planning and managing events with many moving parts.Experience developing STEM-related education materials.Flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends and the ability to travel.Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and time-management skills.Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, Project, and Adobe Acrobat Pro, Illustrator, and InDesign.Some photography and video experience.Excellent ethics and integrity.

Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $78000 - $105400

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
