Under moderate supervision, the Manager of Marketing and Communications will oversee all marketing and communications for a community services department. Individuals in this position will be responsible for identifying, developing, and executing events and marketing materials to increase the department's visibility with relevant stakeholders. In addition, this role manages interactions and communication between the company and external partners, ensuring the success of community events through clear and frequent communication. The Manager of Marketing and Communications must demonstrate the ability to develop and execute successful marketing and communication strategies.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing Strategies: Works closely with other CSD departments to develop content that highlights key departmental functions. This includes implementing comprehensive marketing and communication strategies that align the department with its overall objectives and target audience while ensuring consistency in messaging across all channels.Stakeholder Engagement: Attends events and networks remotely and in person to build and maintain relationships with local non-profit organizations, government agencies, faith-based centers, and private partners.Strategic Planning: Develops and implements individualized plans to address gaps in engagement by strengthening local partnerships and increasing public awareness of HCCSD programs and services through events and marketing opportunities.Media Relations & Communication: Supports media relations, which may include developing contact lists, writing and editing press releases, talking points, and speeches, and managing content strategy and development for external communications such as a community-focused newsletter, social media strategy, and other materials.Team Management: Supervises communications staff by managing workload, providing training and growth opportunities, advising on direction and strategy, and tracking and addressing performance.Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of marketing and communications channels, including digital, social media, email, and traditional media.Knowledge of public administration practices and local government business.Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.Robust leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong time-management, prioritization, and organization skills.Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.Ability to demonstrate strong decision-making skills.Ability to manage and lead a high-performing team.WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position is based in an office environment, where the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, scanners, and filing cabinets is routine.The physical demands associated with this job are minimal, with occasional lifting and moving of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.The role is predominantly sedentary, involving mainly sitting with occasional standing and walking.POSITION TYPE AND TYPICAL HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position with the typical work hours of Monday - Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Occasional weekends, holidays, and overtime may be required based on the specific needs and demands of the department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field and six (6) years of experience in a media or communications setting.ORAssociate's Degree in a directly related field and eight (8) years of experience in a media or communications setting.ORHigh School Diploma or equivalent and ten (10) years of experience in a media or communications setting.
