We are representing an exciting opportunity for a Structural Fabrics Designer to join a pioneering aerospace startup. This role involves designing innovative fabric solutions for various applications within the aerospace industry.
Responsibilities:Design and develop advanced structural fabric solutions for aerospace applications, including concept creation, prototyping, and testing.Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure designs meet project requirements and industry standards.Utilize CAD software to create detailed design specifications and prototypes remotely, with occasional onsite presence during fabric build and assembly stages.Research to enhance product performance and efficiency, focusing on fabric material properties and structural integrity.Ensure designs comply with quality standards and project timelines.
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.Proven experience in structural fabrics design, with a strong portfolio, prioritizing:Fabric (soft structures) design experience in industries such as Yachts, Sails, Airships, Stratosphere balloons, and Large inflatables, including proficiency in CAD.Aerospace Design experience, particularly in aeronautics/aviation, with CAD proficiency.Familiarity with fabric material properties and testing experience.Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in hybrid roles, combining remote and onsite work as needed.
