Client Marketing

The Client Marketing role is responsible for development and execution of strategic campaigns in partnership with Marketing and Distribution colleagues aimed at acquiring, developing and retaining clients. By utilizing traditional as well as dynamic methods, such as client segmentation, marketing automation, digital and social methods, they aim to execute multi-faceted campaigns that deliver high-quality leads to the sales organization. This job supervises a team of professional level employees and sets goals and objectives for team members to ensure the achievement of department results.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Leads strategy development and delivery of Go-To-Market plans for client segments and executes deliverables against plan.

Establishes and maintains strong working relationships and collaboration with sales organization and business partners.

Owns journey mapping for their respective audience segmentation – including catalogue, prioritization, planning and execution, including the strategic objectives & goals, priorities, stakeholders, target audience (segments), channels, products and processes, and creates the project plan for the journey.

Manages campaign planning, development and execution in partnership with Sales and functional marketing team members.

Develops appropriate departmental measurements and key performance indicators (KPIs) based on overall business goals.

Provides tactical and custom marketing support aligned with Client marketing support model in partnership with functional areas of marketing.

Manages team performance through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional services and engagement, motivation, and team development.

This role is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies supporting Nuveen’s retirement investing offerings, including target date, target risk, responsible investing and lifetime income. Primary duties include strategy and execution of product launches, product actions, focus campaigns, managing updates of existing marketing collateral and website pages, developing sales and digital tools and working with design to create new collateral.

Develops product positioning, associated marketing themes and media channels that align with target customer demographics. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate product differentiators that resonate with target customer segments.

Researches and analyzes market opportunities and develops recommendations to drive branding/marketing strategies that result in a successful product launch.

Develops reports on competitors’ products and trends, marketing methods and business results for management.

Conducts research as needed for market positioning, such as pricing, market assessment, or promotional and advertising research studies.

Reviews copy for advertising, marketing, training and communication materials, for new and enhanced products.

Participates in quality assessment and improvement process as needed.

Partners with product development and marketing teams to ensure that customer needs/values are incorporated into product design, branding and marketing approaches.

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of financial services product marketing experience.

People management.

Preferred Qualifications:

7+ years of financial services product marketing experience.

7+ years’ experience working in the retirement or defined contribution industry.

Experience with asset allocation and/or income solutions.

University degree.

Strategic thinking to enable impactful delivery and execution of results-driven marketing plans.

Relationship building to enable strong relationships across the enterprise.

Digital-first approach to drive deeper engagement with target audiences.

Experience managing high performing marketing teams.

Analytical skills to help track, measure and interpret success/strategy of marketing programs.

Base Pay Range: $128,900/yr. - $176,800/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
