Our team of UX researchers guide design partners and cross-functional teams at ebay to discover, interpret, and act upon insights and opportunities in an inspiring way. We contribute to all phases of product development, and influence product and business strategy while we're at it.The ideal candidate for this team is a strategic thinker, great storyteller, and loves working with peers and leaders to uncover insights and drive sophisticated solutions to tough problems. This passionate and inclusive researcher will work closely alongside the Staff UX Researcher, partners from design, business, product management, engineering, and marketing globally to deliver high-impact user insights. Crafting, conducting, and socializing user research across a spectrum of methodologies is something this candidate excels at.What you will accomplish:Work with Staff UX Researcher for Shipping & Monetization to ensure timely delivery of research for key priorities on the roadmap

Help drive key features, products, or initiatives based on company priorities

Lead research towards advising on improvements to make and defining excellent customer experiences

Partner and work closely with Design, Product, and Business leadership to drive the UX strategy for the area through insights

Employ storytelling techniques and workshops to communicate research insights and recommendations, and help teams turn

insights into action

Actively contribute to the always-growing UX Research practice at eBay

What you will bring:Masters or PhD in Anthropology, Sociology, Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Human Factors Engineering, a related field and 3+ years of experience in applied user experience research settings

Experience successfully impacting design and product decisions to benefit the customers and the business

Deep understanding of UX Research discipline fundamentals and some advanced-level techniques; strong familiarity advocating for UX Research best practices

Expert use of UX Research tools

Practical experience in deploying qualitative and quantitative research methods throughout the product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch in a large scale environment across multiple teams (ideally in eCommerce or Monetization)

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.$135,200 - $205,700

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
