Description of Work

Public Outreach

Provide EDS information to community, businesses, agencies, and professionals relating to communication needs of deaf, hard of hearing, and deaf-blind individualsCoordinate presentations upon requests to agencies/organizations/schools/civic groupsNetwork (attend/participate) with professionals at organizations/civic group meetings, workshops/conferences and at other functions deemed appropriate by the TRP/RC managerIdentify certain groups for presentations and servicesMonitor and evaluate outreach activitiesAssist the with booths at conventions and workshops in this position's catchments areasTechnical Assistance

Provide EDS assistance with completion of applications and gathering of required information for EDS formsAssess hearing loss and/or other additional disabilities for appropriate equipment selection, and the ability for consumer to utilize technology available appropriatelyProvide training for consumersProvide troubleshooting for equipment problemsProvide loaner equipment for consumers that aren't eligible to apply or their equipment is being repairedTraining

Coordinate presentations to agencies and service providers who work with deaf, hard of hearing, and deaf-blind individualsMarket presentations that will benefit the community in accessing and understanding the telecommunications needs of deaf, hard of hearing, and deaf-blind individualsProvide customized training to consumers who may benefit from access to the telecommunications world

Program Development and Maintenance

Develop TRP/EDS presentationsIdentify target groups that may need information about EDS.Maintain monthly activity reportsPromote research on new outreach activitiesMeet with EDS staff on regular basis to review outreach activities and plan new activitiesMaintain demonstration equipment and VRS
