How You Will Make An Impact

We are looking for a Director of Consumer Product Marketing to be the first-ever PMM at ThredUp and to lead our product marketing initiatives. This role would define the function of Product Marketing at ThredUp, while driving the development and execution of new feature launches and go-to-market-plans and campaigns that resonate with and engage our target consumers. You will play a crucial role in positioning our products effectively in the marketplace, enhancing brand visibility, and accelerating consumer demand, engagement, and loyalty.

In This Role You'll Get To:Connective Tissue: Understand the business and the customer, then connect the two. Bring together product management, sales, and other teams to ensure the successful launch and promotion of products. Act as the voice of the marketing team and the customer in product decisions, ensuring consumer and brand considerations are at the forefront.

Product Positioning: Develop compelling positioning, naming, messaging for our products that resonate with our target audience and differentiate our offerings in the market.

Strategy Execution: Craft and implement innovative go-to-market plans and campaigns that effectively drive awareness, buzz, customer engagement, and adoption of our products.

Consumer Insights: Create and leverage consumer insights and market trends to inform product strategies and create targeted marketing campaigns that effectively communicate the value of our offerings.

Cross-Functional Leadership: Help define a product and customer vision by establishing a set of customer insights, key metrics and impact, and encourage cross functional teams to bring that vision to life by partnering with product, design, creative, brand, CRM, and more.

Team Development: Establish the PMM function at ThredUp, including team goals, workflows, and best practices that set the team up to scale

Brand Management: Enhance brand consistency across all product marketing efforts, aligning with ThredUp brand strategies

Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze the performance of product marketing campaigns, utilizing insights to refine strategies and achieve marketing objectives.

Innovation: Proactively identify opportunities for feature innovation, funnel optimization, and more throughout existing app and web experiences, and orchestrate experimentation plans across key channels and products. Partner closely with data science and marketing teams to build out roadmaps and testing strategies to drive growth and engagement

Voice of Customer: Drive a research agenda that equips the product, revenue, and marketing team with data-based customer insights to deliver the right products, experiences, and benefits that solve core user and business needs

What We're Looking For:

8+ years of experience in product marketing within a fast-paced consumer technology environment.

Proven track record of developing and executing successful product marketing strategies for consumer brands.

Experience in brand management, including crafting brand narratives and managing brand positioning.

Strong analytical skills and experience using data to inform marketing strategies and decisions.

Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams.

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.

At thredUP, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays between $200,000 and $220,000, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Many thredUP employees also have the opportunity to own shares of thredUP stock. thredUP employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, as well as a discount when purchasing thredUP stock if voluntarily participating in thredUP's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Subject to eligibility requirements, you'll also receive other benefits: Comprehensive medical & dental coverage, vision, 401k, life and disability insurance.

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
