Northeast Family Services is seeking an experienced masters-level professional to join our growing Massachusetts CBHI team as an I ntake Screener and Authorization Specialist!

The Intake Screener and Authorization Specialist manages all aspects of the registration and admissions process for Northeast Family Services' five regions in Massachusetts. They are responsible for working closely and extensively with various referral sources throughout the entirety of the referral, waitlist, and assignment process, as well as maintaining client rosters for waitlist, active, transfer, and discharged clients. They process intake paperwork and required clinical documentation, such as comprehensive assessments and treatment plans. This role manages the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Access (MABHA) updates on a monthly basis. They are also responsible for answering incoming calls, gathering referral information, verifying insurance coverage, and scheduling clients' appointments.

To be successful in the Intake Screener and Authorization Specialist position, you should be highly organized, be detail oriented, and have a working knowledge of payer portals, co-pays, deductibles, and health insurance benefits. Top candidates will also have excellent interpersonal skills and work well as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes program directors, clinicians, nurse practitioners, and peers.

Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Psychology, Social work, Counseling, or directly related human services field is required for this roleAt least 1 year of patient intake and scheduling experienceAt least 1 year of IHT / IHBS Clinician experienceExperience reviewing comprehensive assessments and treatment plansWorking knowledge of insurance benefits and authorizationsStrong computer literacy, including MS Office and Electronic Health Records (EHR)Experience working with and helping clients/families with complex behavioral health needsMust have prior experience with behavioral health field; familiarity with CBHI performance specificationsAbility to keep client and company confidencesExcellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stressStrong time management and organizational skillsBenefits:
