Title: Staff Writer

Location: Los Angeles

Report to: Michael Fell, Editorial Director, TV Guide Magazine and TVInsider.com

Applicants should have a minimum of three years experience writing about entertainment, with a focus on television for either print or online. Candidates MUST live in Los Angeles. You will work closely with our West Coast Editor and be expected to go to sets, attend industry events and conduct face-to-face interviews.

Requirements:

We’re looking for applicants with excellent writing experience in the pop culture genre.

Original storytelling and original reporting are a must. Rewriting press releases or rewriting stories from the competition will not impress.

Must possess strong writing and grammar skills.

Candidates must thrive in a pressure-filled, deadline-oriented environment.

Candidates must be enthusiastic, efficient and organized.

Experience with breaking original news will get your resume to the top of the pile.

Here are some of the expectations for this job:

You'll contribute to our franchise packages, including Fall Preview and Returning Favorites.

You’ll manage multiple assignments, often on short deadlines.

You’ll pitch and write stories for all sections of the magazine, for Special Interest Publications and for TVInsider.com.

You must value factual accuracy in your reporting.

You’ll become an expert on the shows and talent you cover, and the industry in general.

You’ll establish productive relationships with publicists and network executives.
