Are you on the cutting edge of social media with a proven track record of building audience engagement, video views, referral traffic, brand loyalty, and revenue growth with a passion for television production? Hearst Media Production Group (HMPG) is seeking a Digital Director to manage, build and execute social media strategies across our brands, including more than 30 broadcast television series in a variety of genres. An unmatched sense of how social media can tell stories and enhance brands is key. This leader will oversee a team of exceptional social media producers and editors and work collaboratively with internal departments, external partners, and clients. The ideal candidate must have the ability to set KPIs, build strategies and execute those strategies to meet goals. This position reports to the Creative Services Director and is based in our new state-of-the-art Hearst office in Charlotte, NC.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a multi-platform social media strategy for HMPG and its portfolio of programming
  • Manage a team of social media editors and producers
  • Analyze metrics to create KPIs that are attainable
  • Collect and assess data from campaigns to create clear and concise reports that are understandable to all stakeholders
  • Identify what is performing and pivot teams creatively to reach goals
  • Identify and execute strategies to build out audience growth and engagement
  • Work in close collaboration with other departments to create and execute social media strategies
  • Work in a state of constant innovation, identifying new strategies and platforms that can drive video views, audience and referral traffic to websites
  • Lead creative vision for social media graphics and video templates across all platforms that feels cohesive and representative of the brand
  • Strategize and execute community management across all platforms
  • Maintain a robust social media calendar to ensure the capitalization of tentpole moments/dates
  • Identify trends, viral moments and ensure HMPG’s digital/social team stays on the cutting edge
  • Collaborate with other Hearst entities and influencers for cross-promotional opportunities
  • Collaborate with sales teams to conceptualize and post social media for sponsored content
  • Operate as the key liaison between HMPG and its sponsorship partners to meet contractual obligations
  • Stay informed on all platform algorithm changes, address product changes or concerns, and relay information into actionable strategies to HMPG
  • Oversee and/or shoot social media content
  • Interact with network, advertisers, and sponsorship contacts
  • Travel out-of-state on occasion

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience working within the social media space within the arena of television, film, and/or other related media field
  • Effective communication and experience working across multiple departments
  • Related military experience will be considered
  • A proven track record of developing high performing social content narratives and growing audiences in social media
  • Smart, creative, and passionate about building audience and engagement in new ways
  • Strategic thinker with a growth mindset and attitude
  • Analytical and organized in approach, and love using data to inform decisions and bringing order to chaos to drive strong outcomes
  • Excellent interpersonal and client communication/presentation skills
  • Personal integrity, initiative, and energized by working as an integral part of an effective team
  • Know how to identify shareable/viral content: pop culture expert fluent in what's trending and always plugged in to latest conversations
  • Excellent writing skills - quick with a brand-appropriate social copy
  • Ability to abide by and enforce HMPG’s social media brand guidelines
  • Experience with Brandwatch, Sprout or similar social analytics tools along with understanding of Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/TikTok insights
  • Experience with Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Facebook Creator Studio, or in-app creative tools to create posts is a bonus
  • Excellent organization and time management skills with initiative
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • A blend of collaborative skills as well as being an independent self-starter
  • Flexible with ability to shift gears quickly between multiple campaigns and projects managed
  • A good eye for content composition, either self-generated/created or professionally sourced
