Overview
The Creative Director is the creative leader within the Content Studio team. An experienced visual storyteller, passionate about retail, with proven expertise as a photographer/videographer. The CD conceives, directs, and executes multi-media content from concept to final output, supporting Party City’s strategic brand and business objectives.
A natural leader, the CD will lead and mentor a team of talented photographers, videographers and designers to consistently deliver best in class content that profoundly resonates with our customers.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the marketing and branding teams and develop concepts against creative briefs demonstrating how the concept aligns with strategic objectives, customer targets and brand guidelinesManage multiple shoots, direct talent + crew, and shoot multi-media content as requiredPartner with external agencies as required in the development and execution of content needsLead cross functional team brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas driving visual engagement and dynamic storytellingPerformance manage and elevate the bench strength of a diverse internal studio team of photographers, videographers, and graphic designers; foster their professional growth and developmentPartner with Studio Operations to optimize production efficiencies aimed at accelerating production volume while ensure best in class qualityMaintain a keen understanding of our target market needs and market trends to inform creative strategies and decision-makingRequirements
Qualifications
A deep understanding of omni-channel retail marketing and overall communication strategy activation; proven ability to translate creative briefs into memorable narrativesHigh level of aesthetic taste and understanding of the role compelling and engaging storytelling plays in brand and business buildingBachelors degree in Fine Arts, Film, Photography, Media Production, or a related field10+ years creative leadership experience in a creative agency, or in the visual content production industry; 8+ years as a CD; proven skills as a photographer/videographer preferred; experience directing p in various production environments from “in-studio” to “on location”A rich portfolio demonstrating expertise in lifestyle categoriesExcellent interpersonal and overall communication skills; can effortlessly present ideas and articulate creative visionDemonstrated leadership skills and experience mentoring and managing a team of creative professionals across multiple disciplinesStrong conceptual thinker and creative problem solver who has the ability to quickly pivot when business needs shiftFluent in the language of photography/video production and technologyTechnical requirements: Expert fluency in Adobe Creative Suite in a MAC environmentThrives in a fast paced environment and able to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously, meeting deadlines and budgets
