Overview
Essential Functions of the Job:
Lead and manage strategic U.S. corporate communications, including creation and execution of communications strategies that pull through business imperatives, engage patient advocacy organizations and position BeiGene as an oncology leader.
Build and execute external messaging and media outreach for public affairs plans in priority states including, but not limited to – create surround sound campaigns related to patient access and reimbursement issues; corporate reputation initiatives; grassroots partnerships and coalition engagement; and environmental shaping around BeiGene pipeline.
Support branded and pipeline communications work in the U.S. with the product communications team; help to grow awareness and understanding of BeiGene’s scientific expertise and products among key U.S. stakeholder communities.
Engage in executive visibility planning and execution for key senior leaders in the U.S.
Support digital strategy work related to patients, science and policy.
Work collaboratively and cross-functionally within and beyond Corporate Affairs to integrate and align messaging and strategies with efforts led by Commercial, Government Affairs, Patient Advocacy, Medical Affairs and others; offer creative PR ideas that are complementary to the marketing strategy and drive results.
Support commercial team leadership on internal communications needs (North America Leadership Team; North America Town Halls; internal commercial team newsletter).
Execute external communications in support of local congresses in North America.
Support external communications activities when issues and/or crises arise
Represent BeiGene at key grassroots and local events.
Help prepare presentations to key BeiGene executives.
Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree required.
MA/MS/MBA preferred.
Qualifications Required:
BA/BS with 12 plus years of overall experience with 10 years of healthcare public relations experience, with at least 3 years in a corporate (pharma or biotech) setting or an MA/MS/MBA with 8 plus years of healthcare public relations experience, with at least 3 years in a corporate (pharma or biotech) setting.
Deep experience in public affairs-related communications.
Able to build and maintain close, collaborative relationships with all levels of the organization to ensure alignment and integration of strategies, tactics and content.
Strong understanding of integrated communications strategies involving paid, owned, earned and shared media components.
Exceptional writing and editing skills; strong oral communications skills and ability to convey complex science for a variety of audiences.
Detail-oriented, with a strong ability to organize and analyze.
Ability to deliver products that engage, excite, and motivate audiences.
Ability to work independently and use sound judgment in decision-making, including setting and managing priorities and meeting competing deadlines.
Deadline-driven and accustomed to juggling multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.
