Pay Rate:

7-month contract (with possible extension)
Key Responsibilities:Plans, writes, edits, and maintains Field Service documentation (i.e., Field Service procedures and technical bulletins) for medical device systems.Complete documentation control steps to release final documentation including Change Orders in the documentation control system.Informs and adheres to policies, procedures, and quality documents.Collaborates with project team members to share knowledge and best practices.Uses skills as an experienced technical communication professional with an understanding of industry best practices and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.Evaluate, recommend, or develop documentation processes and productivity aids.Assist with the development of an internal writing style guide.Qualifications:Minimum 12 years of technical writing experience in a hardware or engineering environment, including documentation for various technical audiences.Bachelor's degree in engineering sciences, professional writing, or equivalent preferred.Strong writing and grammar skills in areas of content development by using a minimalist, topic-based writing style.Analytical ability to swiftly grasp and effectively communicate complex scientific and engineering concepts for intended audiences.Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to participate in project discussions and manage deliverables for multiple projects under tight deadlines, set priorities, and manage time effectively.Understanding of mechanical/hardware concepts and complex devices.Previous experience with medical devices is preferred.Experience with DITA XML authoring tools but PTC Arbortext Editor or IXIASOFT CCMS highly desired.Experience with current versions of standard authoring tools, including Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Microsoft Excel, and Word.Professional references and writing examples are expected.
